STEP TWO
Local Open Water Dives
Each student has the option of completing the dives with HDC or getting a Student Referral and doing the dives elsewhere.
Our Instructors and Assitant Instructors will escort and assist you on your first open water dives. You will complete 4 Open Water Dives and demonstrate many of the skills you already learned and practiced in the pool. There will be on average 5 to 6 skills to demonstrate for each of the four dives.
Hampton Dive Center has exclusive access rights to "Hampton Springs," a large freshwater-filled sand quarry. There are several underwater platforms, used as staging areas off the sand to perform skills. We also have sunk several "shipwrecks" for student exploration as well as to provide additional habitat for the large mouth bass population that has taken residence.
Diving in the Northeast requires more from a diver than diving in crystal clear tropical waters. The students who choose to do their Open Water Dives locally with Hampton Dive Center usually become more confident and capable scuba divers than those who do their dives in the tropics.
Cost :
Group Open Water Dives- $35* - $50 per dive/ per person
Private Open Water Dives- $70* - $85 per dive/ per person
No scuba equipment is included.
* $15.00 discount per dive is offered to customers who purchase or are renting BCD and Regulators from Hampton Dive Center.
